Alla Shatsova, the creator and instructor of "Dance after Work"
studio, has an extensive experience as a performer, teacher and
choreographer. Born in Mogilev, Belarus into an artistic family,
she started dancing at the age of 5. While studying at a dance school,
she joined the Children Crinichki dance group as its soloist. The
group performed and toured all over the former USSR and in Europe
winning numerous local, national and international dance contests.
Later Alla worked at the Mogilev Children Music Palace and
Jewish Cultural Center as a dance teacher and choreographer. She
also taught aerobics at the City Fitness Center and performed with
the Vesnya Dance Company. She continued her dance career in San
Francisco teaching, studying and performing.
Alla has obtained her MA in Teaching from the Minsk Linquistics
University, the Highest Qualification Category in teaching, Certificate
as a Social Dance Performer and Certificate as a Classical Dance
Performer from the SFCC, Certificates as a Dance Instructor (Bronze
Level) in Ballroom Smooth and Social Dances from the San Francisco
Ballroom Dance Teachers College, Degree in Argentine Tango from
DVIDA (Dance Vision International Dance Association). Her background
includes classical and character dance, jazz, yoga, flamenco, tap,
Swing, Latin, Ballroom and Argentine tango.
